15 Questions

As a seriously nosy blogger, I love seeing question & answer sessions with other bloggers. While I like to think I know Karen and Keshia pretty well, there's always room for more nosiness. Right?

So, the latest LBLC post, 15 questions! Each of us thought of five questions we wanted to ask, and then we all answered them. Here they are:

Karen's Questions

1. What or thing would you tell yourself when you were 16 if you could go back, and why?
I would tell myself that when my Media Studies course is cancelled, I should take a year out of college rather than spend a long, painful year studying Business Admin. It's a waste of a year, and there's always time to return to education in the future. Then I could save myself some really boring hours, under incompetent tutors.

2 What is your ideal way to spend a free hour?
I like to spend the hour after I get up (the first hour is dedicated to breakfast and washing up), with a large pot of Teapig's Chocolate Flake Tea, curled up on the sofa under a blanket listening to Lauren Laverne on BBC6 Music and knitting. It's my dedicated free hour of relaxation, where I try and forget any worries and just enjoy life.

3. If you could do any 'experience' day sort of thing what would you do and why? I think it would have to be a hot-air balloon ride. Who wouldn't want to soar about the lovely English countryside..well Rob actually. He's afraid of heights, which is one reason I haven't done it yet!

4. If you were pope what would you choose as your name and why?
Invisibilium Cōleī. Because as I understand it you require certain tackle to be a pope. Tackle I am missing. However if I WAS the pope I assume I would want to hide the fact I didn't have said equipment, so I would be (in English), Invisible Testicles.

5. What have you done recently that you really shouldn't have but are glad you did?
Eaten a second slice of my mother-in-law Barbara's excellent ginger cheesecake. She's one of my baking inspirations, and this was a particularly good bake.

Keshia's Questions
1. What would be your "Come Dine with Me" menu?
I think I would make tom yum soup as my starter, I learnt a really good recipe for it while living in Thailand and I absolutely adore hot and sour food. Then I would follow this with bacon and blue cheese tart with roast potatoes, it's another of my favourite 'own cooked' meals. For dessert it would have to be keylime pie, I've been told a few times my pie is heavenly - so I'd hope it would win me the £1000. Yep folks, I'm in it for the money! ;)

2. What is/was your favourite children's film?
The Neverending Story was my absolute favourite film as a child - but I always needed to fast-forward the scene in the Swamp of Sadness with the lovely white horse. Now, it's probably The Last Unicorn. The love I feel for this film is incredible, if you haven't seen it, you must! However, I do wish that I'd seen Studio Ghibli films as a child.

3. What is your cinema snack of choice?
I think being at the cinema is the perfect excuse to be greedy. So mine will be a starter of (heavily) salted popcorn, coupled with a huge, icy Pepsi and finally the heftily-expensive pick'n'mix full of those lovely white mice please.

4. What is your proudest moment to date?
This is a tied position. The first moment is marrying Rob, I was the proudest woman in the universe to stand beside him and become his wife. We've grown up together from silly teenagers to (mostly) mature adults and although this will seem sloppy, we've built a lovely life together and I was so proud to celebrate that with my friends and family. Secondly, graduating last year was a huge achievement for me, I'd been suffering horribly from my chronic fatigue and missed almost every session of the second year, but still managed  to graduate.

5. What do you look like right now? (picture please!)
This - but a bit more tired and floury.

Louise's Questions

1. How did you name your blog?
My blog first started with the name Catface, but then as the youtube animated Catface stole my name and began growing in popularity I decided to change it to avoid confusion. Nekomentsu is Japanese, and was a translation of catface. However, I later learnt that mentsu is actually more figurative. It DOES mean face, but rather the Asian concept of face, meaning more like honour or prestige. But, to me the name still works. I do indeed honour cats ;)

2. What are your favourite TV programmes?
My absolute favourite TV show is Twin Peaks. You can never go wrong with a TP quote, and if you haven't seen if YOU MUST. More current favourites are Nashville and Game of Thrones. I also love The Borgias, I'm a massive history geek and have been obsessed with the history of the Borgia family for a long time now, so a TV show is just perfect for me. The Moomins is also AMAZING.

3. Which five people would you like to meet? Where would you take them?
Lucy Lawless is my perfect role-model of positive body image, plus she seems like she has a pretty good sense of humour, which is always good. PJ Harvey because I love her, so very much. She makes music that makes my soul feel better and I want to thank her for that. Neil Gaiman, because his books are just brilliant, and I like his odd, slightly sidewards look on life. Tove Janssen, because I admire her outlook on life, and would love to chat about her island-living-experiences and creation of the Moomins. And Deacon Claybourne in Nashville because I want him to give me a balloon everytime he sees me (if you haven't seen Nashville, this will make zero sense to you, I'm such a hipster).

I'd also like to add that that I would very much like to meet Jon Snow from the TV version of Game of Thrones. But, I didn't want to seem shallow, and let's be honest my reasons for this are very shallow ;).

I would take them all out for a bubble tea, to a place with big squishy sofas.

4. What is your signature dish?
Lasagne. It always was in the past, but I relied on jars of sauce. Since moving in with Rob I've had an education in cooking and learnt to make my own sauces, and my lasagne has improved in leaps and bounds.

5. If you could tell the other members of the LBLC one thing each, what would it be?

Karen: It feels so good to marry your soulmate, but be sure to never take them for granted. I went through a period of doing this to Rob (I think it's easy to slip into this routine when you have a chronic illness), but you should never do this. Let every day be full of love and laughter. Also, get a cat.

Keshia: You are a wonderful, beautiful person. Believe in yourself and never compromise on your beliefs or your happiness. Push forward and aim for your dreams. Also, get a cat.

So, there are my answers. I hope you enjoy them. I'm dying to compare them to Karen and Keshia's answers to see where we differ/are similar.
